My sister loves asparagus. Probably her favorite vegetable by a wide margin. It's one of the first things she learned how to make. I'll make asparagus a few different ways, but this way is easily my favorite. This can either grilled in a foil packet or cooked in a skillet on the stove. If I have the grill on, I usually grill it for the easy clean-up.
Ingredients:
1 pack asparagus, ends cut off
1 lemon, juiced
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup shredded Sartori Extra-Aged Fontina
Preparation:
1. Place asparagus, lemon juice, butter, and spices in a skillet. Cover at heat over medium.
2. Cook for 6-8 minutes, until softened. Drain pan of excess liquid.
3. Top with cheese and cover for 1-2 minutes, until melted.
