Sunday brunch is a popular tradition in my household. We typically alternate between sweet and savory brunches. Waffles are super easy and versatile. Enjoy this Nutella version!
Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
6-8 tablespoons Nutella
Preparation:
1. Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together milk, oil, egg and vanilla. Gradually whisk in the dry ingredients.
3. Heat waffle iron. Spray with pan spray so waffle will not stick.
4. Pour a thin layer of batter into waffle grate. Add teaspoon-size dollops of Nutella across the waffle. Top with another thin layer of batter. Cook for 3-4 minutes, until waffle is fluffy and browned.
5. Repeat with remaining batter and Nutella. Makes 2-3 large round waffles.
6. Top waffles with desired toppings, such as whipped cream, maple syrup, additional Nutella, berries, etc.
