For a birthday at work, I was given 'chocolate' to work with. Well what is better than chocolate + crunchy + salt? These were super easy and came together very quickly. These are best served same day as made.
Ingredients:
Crust:
2 1/2 cups crushed pretzels
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter, melted
Brownie:
1 box brownie mix + eggs, water, oil per box instructions
Frosting:
1 stick butter, at room temperature
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons cream
pretzels for garnish
Preparation:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 13x9 pan with pan spray.
2. Mix crushed pretzels, sugar, and melted butter together.
3. Spread and pack down pretzel mixture into an even crust.
4. Bake for 8 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes.
5. Mix brownie mix according to package instructions. Pour over prepared crust and bake per box instructions.
6. Let brownies cool completely.
7. To make frosting, cream butter. Gradually add powdered sugar. Add vanilla and 1 tablespoon cream.
8. Adjust powdered sugar and add more cream if needed to achieve desired consistency. Frost cooled brownies. Garnish with pretzels.
