I recently cleaned out my pantry and found a huge bag of M&Ms. I'm not big on eating those, so I knew I was going to want to bake something with them. I made some Chex Mix for a get together with friends and had quite a few pretzels left over. Pretzels + M&Ms is such a great flavor combination that I decided to put them together into cookies! This is a recipe from She Wears Many Hats. I adjusted the pretzel M&M ratio to my liking. These turned out well and will be facing the coworker taste test tomorrow!
Ingredients:
1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs, at room temperature
1 tablespoon vanilla
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup broken pretzels pieces
3/4 cup M&Ms
Preparation:
1. Cream butter, sugar and brown sugar together.
2. Add eggs and vanilla and beat until smooth.
3. Sift flour, salt and baking soda together. Gradually add to wet mixture.
4. Stir in pretzels and M&Ms. Use a spoon, not a mixer to do this or the pretzels with disintegrate.
5. Bake at 350 degrees for 11-13 minutes. Cookies should look slightly under-baked when removing from the oven. Let sit on cookie sheet for 2 minutes. Remove to cool.
