I saw these in the holiday Rachael Ray magazine and immediately knew I had to make them. They were incredibly easy and turned out really well! They look and taste great! This dough does need to be chilled, but it makes it much easier to work with.
Makes 3.5 dozen
Ingredients:
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup sour cream
1/2 cup red sugar sprinkles
1/2 cup green sugar sprinkles
Preparation:
1. Cream butter and sugar together until fluffy.
2. Add egg and vanilla, then sour cream. Beat until well mixed.
3. Add baking powder, salt and baking soda. Gradually add flour until dough is a consistent texture.
4. Cover and chill dough for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
5. Roll chilled dough into 1-inch balls. Roll dough in sugar sprinkles.
6. Bake cookies at 375 degrees for 7 minutes.
