Sometimes the best recipes come from things I already have and just need to put together. My Spinach Artichoke Dip is one of my favorite appetizers and a go-to for parties. I'm quite the pizza fiend, so something about making one of my favorite dips into a pizza seemed like a great idea. Adding the tomato sauce really makes this whole thing come together!
Ingredients:
Spinach Artichoke Dip
Pizza Dough
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 cup tomato sauce (jarred, or see my Spaghetti recipe)
1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
pinch of cornmeal
Preparation:
1. Make spinach artichoke dip and set aside.
2. Preheat oven to 500 degrees.
3. Roll out pizza dough into a circle or rectangle that will fit the pizza stone.
4. Sprinkle a pinch of cornmeal on the pizza stone. Lay pizza dough on top of cornmeal.
5. Lightly coat the dough with olive oil. Then spread sauce over dough.
6. Place dollops of spinach artichoke dip around the pizza dough and top with a hearty sprinkle of mozzarella.
7. Bake for about 18 minutes, until cheese starts to brown.
