There are so many tasty ingredients in this bread that the best name I could come up with was based on the source of the many of the key ingredients. I grew up in Wisconsin and am a big fan of local products. Sartori cheese is probably my favorite thing there is. So of course, I just have to use it in this bread. This is the ultimate guy bread.
Makes 1 loaf.
Ingredients:
3 cups all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon baking powder
6 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled (Nueske's bacon is my go to!)
1 1/2 cups grated Montamore cheese, divided
1/4 cup honey
1 bottle or can dark beer (I tend to use Leinenkugel's Creamy Dark or New Glarus Fat Squirrel)
2 tablespoons butter, melted
Preparation:
1. Mix flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, bacon, honey, and 1 cup of cheese in a medium mixing bowl.
2. Add bottle of beer and mix well.
3. Pour into greased loaf pan.
4. Top dough with the rest of the Montamore cheese.
5. Drizzle melted butter over the dough.
6. Bake at 350 degrees for 55-60 minutes.
