My sister loves waffles. As we are all home for Thanksgiving, she requested chocolate waffles. I subbed in gluten free flour for her, but they were delicious topped with strawberries and whipped cream!
Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
4 tablespoons granulated sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1 cup skim milk
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
Preparation:
1. Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together milk, oil, egg and vanilla. Gradually whisk in dry ingredients.
3. Mix in any additional ingredients, such as fruit or chocolate chips.
4. Pour batter into waffle maker until grate is just filled.
5. Cook for 3-4 minutes, until waffle is fluffy and browned.
6. Repeat with remaining batter.
