I meticulously meal plan every week in order to save money, time, and not waste food. I usually meal plan by looking at the meat I have in my freezer, my tastes for the week, and by picking a combination of meals that ties together from a taste and ingredient perspective. A trip to Costco this week led me to make Trail Mix. I cook for 2 each week. There is a shopping list at the bottom of this post. I did not include standard pantry items (flour, salt and pepper, butter, etc.). Please make sure to double check the recipes to ensure you have all the ingredients. I highly recommend buying meat in bulk and freezing it. This saves a ton of money. I usually cook 5 dinners a week, go out once a week and eat leftovers once a week.
