Some of the Tasty videos are impossible to resist. My sister and I made these and were very happy with how they turned out. She lives in a studio without a full kitchen, so we managed these in a toaster oven pretty well. These were much easier to make that I was expecting. With a bit of prep ahead of time, these will be great for brunch when I have friends over or for a quick dessert.
Ingredients:
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed and at room temperature
3 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
1/8 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
5 strawberries, halved
Preparation:
1. Cut puff pasty evenly into 9 squares.
2. Using a mixer, blend together cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla.
3. Using a sharp knife, cut 2 Ls in the puff pastry. 2 opposite corners should not be cut. Fold the pastry Ls over each other, leaving a square window in the middle.
4. Place a tablespoon of cream cheese filling in each window. Top with a strawberry half.
5. Bake at 400 degrees for 13-15 minutes, until pastry has risen and is flaky.
6. Dust with powdered sugar prior to serving.
